  American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

The American Heart Association BLS Provider Course is designed for healthcare 

professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic 

cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.



The AHA’s BLS course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give 

high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. 

Training reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and 

Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC). The BLS Provider course covers Adult, Child & Infant CPR & AED Training 

with Relief of Choking for providers in a variety of healthcare settings.

Basic Life Support (BLS) is available in two different training methods – blended learning and classroom training. Both course formats teach the same AHA science-based skills and result in the same

AHA BLS Course Completion Card


 Full Classroom Format- This interactive and fully Instructor-Led training format consists of a combination of video instruction and hands on skills practice scenarios and testing with an emphasis on Team Dynamics. Students will complete all course requirements in a classroom setting. Student Manuals  for full classes can be purchased using the link below.

Blended Course Format- Blended learning is a combination of eLearning, in which a student completes the first part of the course in a self directed manner, followed by a fully Instructor-Led Hands on Skills Session. The American Heart Association blended course is not considered an "online course" as the Instructor-Led Skills Session is REQUIRED for successful completion and therefor will provide you with the same two year certification card as the full classroom session.
